“We normally serve about 250 families,” Bridgett Duquette, CEO of the Central Falls Foundation, said. “Today, in partnership with the city of Central Falls and the mayor, we’re hoping to serve 1,000 families.”
The effort also didn’t come as a surprise to U.S. Sen. Jack Reed, who said people tend to help others in need during a time of uncertainty.
“I think you’ll see that,” Reed said. “That sort of the values that Rhode Islanders treasure, which is in tough times, trying to help somebody else"
